client: New York City Port Authority
After the grievous injury done on September 11th 2001, this film shows New Yorkers stopping to watch their city reassemble itself. New York’s most iconic buildings reveal themselves as constituted from tessellated blocks rotating and emerging in an energetic urban choreography that includes the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building and a downtown diner, from the level of the pavement to a vantage high above Manhattan. The new towers use the energy of their urban surroundings to make their serene anti-collapse in a blend of live action and detailed animation.
The film will be broadcast on television, displayed in public locations such as the subway and airports and will be edited into a a number of versions for presentations by members of the Port Authority.
