Zero Gravity

Imagining a bizarre world in which we pay for gravity.

Gravity has become a commodity. The power to harness, control, and subsequently charge the public for their use of a force we previously took for granted is in the hands of a few morally questionable companies. Families unable to pay their gravity bills are cut off and resort to desperate measures as they struggle to survive. The rich choose to pay for more than a natural level of gravity, physically altering their bodies into muscular, compact forms and creating a new ideal, a new notion of beauty. In a series of four images created for Design Week Squint/Opera explore this parallel world of extremes.
