We are seeking a full-time IT Manager to lead and work alongside the IT team that supports all areas of the business from studio and production team to senior management working across a broad range of technologies which include inhouse and freelancer teams.
Get complete understanding of the IT setup at Squint/Opera and be able to make improvement suggestions.
Ownership of the server room and managing the smooth running of all the servers and the applications running on them related to IT
Maintaining and supporting hardware related to Network, Server and Render farm setup in the server room.
Line managing and mentoring the IT team members
Develop and maintain standards/guides for IT support and knowledge base.
Responsible for making sure the IT tickets have been completed and all issues resolved in a timely manner
Ability to troubleshoot desktop issues to minimise artist downtime and assisting with general desktop support when required
Oversee either individual or group office moves
Ability to foresee potential gaps or issues in IT that might impact production or the wider business
Managing and maintaining the backup and archiving setup
Manage and build relations with existing vendors and 3rd party support.
Negotiating the best deals for subscriptions and hardware purchases.
Owning the yearly IT budget for the company.

Windows deployment using SCCM
Linux experience and deployment using Puppet/Cobbler or similar
Post Production / VFX software support like Maya, Nuke, C4D, 3D-Max
Storage housekeeping for centos based storage servers
Firewall, VPN and network switches management and deployment
Some experience with open source tools like, Zabbix, Mediawiki, RT
Backup tools like BackupExec and Veeme
General scripting to run cron job/tasks in Linux.
Windows AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO, unix services.
IT budgeting and forecasting
Any advance management tools for monitoring and alerting
Any good Ticketing system experience
Software / hardware inventory management system
DR / BC experience - documentation and IT Audit. Risk management
Scripting experience in any scripting language.
Existing network and relationships with suppliers, vendors and third party support
Giving optimum IT support to the team to ensure the efficient running of the studio with few disruptions
Secure the best deals on Software and Hardware
All servers and render farm running at optimum efficiency
Effective communication between IT and all areas of the business from studio and production to studio management
