Squint/Opera is a design studio that brings together media production, digital technology and design to articulate, promote and execute big ideas. We have studios in London and New York, and an international portfolio of clients including BIG, UNStudio, the Empire State Building, Heatherwick Studio, and the V&A. We value pioneering attitudes, collaborative work and dedicated, generous individuals. We are seeking a full-time Junior Designer to join our project teams. You are someone with a wide range of design skills who is hungry for experience across interactive, brand, print, film, 3D, 2D, and animation design. As Squint/Opera has studios in both London and New York, we encourage applicants who wish to be based in either location.
Supporting in the creation of concepts and mockups for interactive and motion media, under the direction of the Project Director
Artworking assets for print and software development
Creating presentation materials for existing projects and new business
Content and design research as needed
Collaboration with internal team consisting of software developers, producers, creatives, and more, across London and New York
Basic skills in creating concepts, mockups, animations and artworking for digital guidelines, digital interfaces, motion graphics, and film treatments.
Skilled in collaborating with other artists, artworkers, animators, coders and creative professionals.
Competent in collaborating with the project team, exhibition designers, creative director, technical director, and producers to understand the design intent of the project.
1+ year experience working professionally in the industry.
A portfolio/reel that showcases your talent in design and animation.
An interest in being involved in a project from concept to execution.
Expert use of Adobe Creative Suite - shortcuts and efficient workflow a must.
Attention to detail and creative flair.
Cinema4D a plus.
Basic understanding of Unity / digital pipelines a plus.
Preferable to have a degree in Design, Motion or Animation.
09.30 - 18.00 Mon - Friday with 1 hour for lunch
