Immersive visions of future Hong Kong
Squint/Opera created a range of immersive media for the 300 sq m, MET designed sales suite at Taikoo Place, a new mixed use development in Hong Kong. Our work included a 270 degree cinematic experience, an interactive 3D model of the development and a 'window to the future' AR experience - all connected via a bespoke iphone app.

AR & VRTaikoo Place, a former dockyard into a new Hong Kong neighbourhood, is a flagship redevelopment project by Swire Properties. The project comprises over 5 million sq. ft. of office space spread over 8 office towers, and over 100 apartments. We were asked to create a variety of creative, elegant and technologically-innovative media for their MET designed sales suite. The content would be used to inform potential tenants about Taikoo Place, and to help build the brand across a variety of different technologies.
The experience begins with an overview film to introduce the audience to Swire Properties. Visitors get a taste of what it might be like to live and work in Taikoo Place while viewing an 8k film shot in Taikoo itself and presented in a circular room of 54 HD screens. This is supplemented by a simple yet immersive scene that allows the audience to feel what it would be like to stand in the middle of empty floor at the top of one of the new buildings. Outside the glass we see a night-to-day time-lapse of the Hong Kong view. A "window to the future" AR experience allows the presenter to reveal the completed project and its hustle and bustle at any time of the day while an interactive 3D model of the development is navigable by an intuitive touchscreen to truly engage with the site itself.
