REAL TIME TECHNICAL ARTIST

 

Being the link between artists and developers, with a background in both disciplines, the Technical Artist ensures integration between the artistic vision of a project and the technical development making it a reality

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working closely with CG Supervisor and Digital Supervisor to successfully integrate design and programming aspects of projects in real time environments
  • Advising on the possibilities and setting up systems and processes for creating and developing interactive real time environments
  • Supporting the Producer, advising on technical issues regarding visual design and contributing creative ideas

  • Identifying bottlenecks and limitations in the pipeline

  • Helping the studio workflow to move towards real-time production

  • Researching and developing new techniques, implementing the best ones and training others on these

  • Identifying where custom tools could be used to improve processes

 

QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Proficient in Unreal (Blueprints, Datasmith, transfer of assets from multiple softwares)

  • Basic working knowledge of Unity an advantage

  • At least 3 years relevant experience with real-time 3D environments

  • Experience in building for VR an advantage

  • Architectural Visualisation experience required

  • Thorough understanding of developing pipelines and processes

  • Strong creative background

PERSON  SPECIFICATION

  • Strong communication skills, keeping in touch with colleagues across multiple sites

  • Able to confidently communicate creative needs to technical personnel and vice versa

  • Experience in scoping projects and reliably estimating required production time

Creative Communications Manager

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join a small and friendly marketing team and play a pivotal role in communicating Squint Opera’s work both externally and internally.
You should have excellent written and visual communication skills and be passionate about social media and it’s positive effects.

The post would suit someone with the following range of interests and abilities:

      • A passion for social media
      • An interest in design, particularly the built environment.
      • Be able to write engaging and excellent copy on the following, events, website, awards, newsletters thought pieces as well as excellent social media posts.
      • The ability to encourage others in the art of good communication.
      • The ability to learn quickly about our ethos and ways of working, and to help develop them.
      • Creatively producing films documenting the production of projects, this will involve working with our creative team to come up with storyboards, treatments, scripts, shot lists and oversee the filming, editing and production of assets.
      • Writing engaging and excellent copy on thought leadership, events, press releases, marketing collateral, website, awards, newsletters as well as excellent social media posts.
      • Managing PR agencies: finding opportunities and angles for press releases and helping to ensure that the schedule of communications is being delivered.
      • Developing and managing the content calendar in line with the marketing communications strategy and working with the wider to stay informed about project and studio developments.

FREELANCE PRODUCER

 

We are searching for inspiring individuals to join our team on a freelance basis as a hands-on Producer or Senior Producer. Working within the Architecture division, across projects that bridge a wide range of multimedia projects, techniques and styles.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creation of quotes and allocation of resources for new business.
  • Communicates a clear sense of direction and purpose
  • Inspires a high performance culture and communicates purpose and expectations
    clearly.

  • Establish strong client relations and act as the central point of contact for designated
    projects

  • Attend client meetings with relevant director/team member as required.

  • Ensure clients are aware of feedback dates and help guide them on the kind of
    feedback SO requires

  • Liaise with the client and project teams, to obtain necessary information on time and
    to answers any queries that may arise from either parties

  • Assess project briefs with HOP and Creative Directors to establish initial pitch
    presentation ideas and creative/technical concept.

  • Ensure each project is staffed according to schedule and budget and provide regular
    updates to HOP and management teams

  • Plan working schedules and resources in line with production milestones and budget
    and respond quickly when changes arise

  • Regularly update and manage projects via a selection of online production tools,
    planning ahead to mitigate any potential pitfalls

  • Provide production schedules to team members and ensure teams are aware of

3D Generalist

 

We are looking for an experienced 3D artist to join our London Architecture team.

You:

  • Highly skilled in all aspects of 3D with strong artistic flair
  • Comfortable leading small teams productively, including guiding more junior artists

  • Have a passion for architecture and other areas of design with experience in high-end rendering techniques and post production workflow for stills and film
  • Have a good understanding of set extension and the process of incorporating 3D in live action.
  • Vital to have a good eye for image composition, light moods, style and a natural visual storytelling ability
  • Ability to work within a creative team where all opinions are valued and respected.
  • Understand and actively contribute to creating effective workflows, understanding the value of creating efficient clean models/scenes/shots that can be handed off to another 3d team member without frustration.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Modelling/texturing/lighting/rendering and animation of 3d architectural scenes.
  • Camera setup for architectural CGIs.
  • Reporting to Head of 3D
  • Acting as the lead 3d artist on stills and/or animation projects
  • Taking responsibility for all 3d elements of a project for its duration, ensuring quality or workflow and result.
  • Leading and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of 3d artists and maintaining quality throughout the project

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Extensive, proven experience working with 3DS Max and VRay for both stills and animations
  • Experience working in architectural visualisation
  • Experienced in Photoshop
  • Additional 3d skills (particles, dynamics, etc) would be beneficial
  • Basic compositing skills (Nuke, After Effects, Fusion)
  • Real time experience and low poly assets workflow beneficial
